Guide for Authors

Submitted manuscripts undergo initial editorial reviewing for the formatting style, and appropriateness to the journal scope. Articles that pass the initial editorial screening are sent to the reviewers.

Decisions are made based on the quality of submitted manuscripts including novelty of the idea/hypothesis, reliability of data, appropriateness of interpretation of findings, validity of results and conclusions.

Language, Style, and Format:

Articles should be submitted in concise scientific English. It is the responsibility of the submitting authors to send their article in the correct English language.

Cover letter:

In a cover letter, authors should introduce the material sent to the journal, and comment on its appropriateness for the journal. A paragraph in the Cover Letter explaining each author's contribution is required.

Original Research Article:

Manuscript Structure:

Title page, keywords, Abstract, Main text, including Introduction, Material and methods, Results, and Discussion,

Acknowledgments, Funding Statement, Conflicts of Interest statement, References, Legends of Tables and Figures, and Tables and/or Figures.

1• Title page – should include:

a) Full title of the article (title should be descriptive, clear, concise, avoid abbreviations)

b) Running headline (for page heading, max 49 characters),

c) All contributing authors’ names, degrees, and affiliations.

d) Only one author should be identified as the corresponding author. Contact details including work address, email, telephone and fax numbers should be provided for the corresponding author. Corresponding author will be responsible for communications. with the journal including submissions, revisions, and receiving the editor’s decision.

2• Keywords –

Please provide 5 to 8 key words to facilitate searching purposes.

3• Abstract –

A structured abstract of no more than 250 words is required, subdivided into the following sequential sections: Introduction,

Material and Methods, Results, and Conclusions.

4• Main text 

The text should be 1000-3000 words and structured with the following headings:

           A) Introduction:

  • Background on the research topic,
  • Research hypothesis,
  • Aims and objectives of the study.

         B) Material and methods

  • Research design,
  • Details on research methodology and procedures performed,
  • Inclusion and exclusion criteria
  • Evaluation of outcome measures
  • Information on consent, and ethics committee approval
  • Statistical analysis including sample size calculation

           C) Results

  • Describe main study results
  • Figures and tables should not exceed 8 combined
  • Duplicate presentation of the same data in figures and table formats is strongly discouraged.

           D) Discussion:

  • Summarize the main study findings
  • Identify points of strengths and weaknesses in the study
  • Correlate your results to prior research in the literature. Explain disagreements with other authors.
  • Unanswered questions for future research

5• Conflicts of Interest notification:

All authors must state explicitly whether potential conflicts of interest do or do not exist If there is a conflict of interest, this should be clarified.

6• Acknowledgments:

Persons who have contributed to the manuscript, but do not fulfill the criteria for authorship, should be acknowledged.

7• Funding:

Funding agencies should be identified including grant ID number and name of the person to whom the financial support is granted.

8• References:

The ‘Harvard style’ of references must be applied.
